The North Cheshire Junior Cricket Association was formed in 1984 with
the purpose of encouraging the development of junior cricket
and to arrange matches between member clubs.
Initially there were 11 clubs in the mid and north Cheshire region
playing at under 15 and under 13 levels, but the NCJCA has now grown
to over 30 member clubs throughout Cheshire, including the Wirral.
From the beginning the philosophy of the NCJCA has been based on
providing an organised fixture list of friendly cricket matches,
running through the season from late April to early August. In
addition there are more competitive knockout competitions. This format
has worked well for the U15, U13 and U11 age groups.
Since 2001, the NCJCA has also organised league cricket for under 18
(colts) teams, having taken on the running of the 40-plus year old
Mid-CheshireYouth Cricket Association.
