FINAL
SUNDAY 4th. SEPTEMBER 2011
Christleton vs Chester Boughton Hall
Christleton won the toss and batted.
Chester Boughton Hall 108 AO
Matt Astbury - Man of the Match
Details of the game:
On a beautiful
sunny afternoon Ben Paterson, Christleton captain, won the toss and elected to
bat first. Paterson opened along
with Harry Peel and they got off to a flying start scoring 57 from the first 6
overs before Paterson went for 29. Peel was joined by Man of the Match Matt
Astbury with the score on 62.
Two overs later Peel went for 24 and Josh
Morgan-Jones came to the crease. Josh did what Josh does and hit a rapid 22 from
13 balls before being stumped by Adam Dumbavand.
Rob Marks joined Astbury and they contineud to score at over 8 runs an over.
Astbury moved on to 40 before he was bowled by O Thompson with the score on
150.
This brought Greg Russell to the crease who didn't intend hanging
around with Christleton in an excellent position with wickets in hand. Greg fell
to a good catch on the boundary by J Killoran for 7 from 4.
Ed Peel next
man in at the end of the 19th over didn't get to face very much when Marks fell
1st ball of the last over and Mike Jones came in and hit a blistering 14 from
the last 5 balls before being run out from the final ball of the innings.
Christleton ended their innings with 178 from 20 overs.
When Chester BH
took the field they faced the task of scoring at 8.9 an over which wasn't helped
when they lost M Treen in the 2nd over with only 1 on the board.
Thompson
joined Mike Robinson and they started to put on a partnership when Thompson was
run out with the score on 30. J Williams was the next man in for CBH but they
continued to struggle against some good bowling from Christleton. Tom Allen
bowled out his 4 overs with 1-17. Wickets fell regularly as CBH fell further and
further behind the required rate. When Robinson was bowled he was joined by A
Dumbavand.
J Williams was next to fall to another excellent catch on the
boundary by Nick Mumford for 14.
After 10 overs,
CBH were struggling with 57 on the board and 4 wickets down, this meant that the
required rate had gone up to 12 an over.
After a quick drink A Dumbavand was soon joined by his brother G
Dumbavand who in turn was soon to depart.
Matt Robinson came in and
stayed long enough to see the wickets of G Dumbavand (7), M Williams (0) and J
Killoran (8) fallat the other end.
This left H Killoran and S Treen to see out the final overs, but Killoran was
going to enjoy himself with the game gone when Astbury took the last catch off
the bowling of Jones, leaving Christleton the winners by 71 runs.
